Reports in the past week have bolstered rumors that Apple Inc. plans to launch its new iPad 3 later this year, and details of some features are being leaked to some media outlets.
Several media have reported that Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL) will forego its anticipated March 2012 launch date for the next generation of its popular iPad mobile tablet and launch as early as September. In a report this past week by the Economic Times of Taiwan, the newspaper cited sources as saying Apple would unveil its third-generation of the iPad in the fourth quarter.
Apple has one retail store in Albuquerque.
That report also included details of the iPad 3, such as it would have a screen resolution five to six times what the current iPad 2 has. That would push the screen resolution to 2560×1920. The Chinese-language newspaper has reportedly been accurate in the past, and often cites sources at electronics manufacturers in Taiwan that are part of the team making components for Apple products or assembling them.
Another report by PCMag.com referred to reports that quoted Hollywood insiders as saying movie studios are scrambling to provide media for the new iPad 3 that they have been told will have 3D capabilities.
Other reports have questioned the timing, but MacRumors reported that if Apple does launch the iPad 3 this fall it would be an aggressive move to head off competition from other new mobile tablets coming onto the market.
As a technology driven, Albuquerque Real Estate Broker, news of yet another new iPad excite me. The iPad and other tablet type quasi computers are playing a bigger and bigger role in real estate. Coldwell Banker Legacy, Coldwell Banker National, www.theQhomes.com, and I are already harnessing the iPad for marketing homes, simplifying the home buying process, contract negotiations, etc. These little devises are great tools and the way of the future. Make sure your Realtor is on board and has the technological skills necessary to keep up in today’s rapidly changing real estate environment. No longer can the “old-school” Realtor keep up with their news paper ads and cold calls to sell your home.
