Home Design: The Best Rooms to Use Tile In

When you’re looking to put your home on the market, you may want to consider some upgrades first. Adding tiling to certain rooms may add value to your home.

When you’re getting ready to put your house on the market, one of the main things you should be doing is fixing and updating as many features as possible to make your house more appealing to buyers. It is smart to set a budget and make a list of projects you’d like to finish before listing your home. Once you’ve made that list, you can prioritize the fixes. Bathrooms

While this room may seem like a given for tile usage, it’s all about the way you use the tile that can up the value of the home. Tiling the floor isn’t enough to draw buyers’ eyes anymore—you’ve got to use the tile in a unique way to create a sense of cohesion throughout the bathroom. Many people add a backsplash to their bathroom walls around sinks and bathtubs. This feature raises the home value by adding style and convenience to the buyer’s day-to-day lifestyle. Tiles are easier to clean and much more stylish than drywall. Consider adding a fun backsplash to your bathroom or powder room before you put your house up for sale.

Mudrooms, laundry rooms, and entryways

All mudrooms, laundry rooms, and entryways at any point in the house can benefit from the addition of tile. Tile is easy to clean, stylish, and adds value to these rooms effortlessly. Tiling the floors of these rooms makes them more usable for the buyer and can even protect against water damage. Buyers look for functional and on-trend flooring in these rooms more than most other aspects. These rooms are typically the dirtiest, as they see people come and go from indoors to outdoors and vice versa. Tile flooring makes these spaces easy to clean and keep tidy.

Hallways and closets

Often overlooked by sellers, closets and hallways are an area that buyers notice more than many expect. Although most people don’t spend time sitting in their hallways or closets, people frequently spend a lot of time looking through them, passing through them, and organizing them.
