Doug Vaughan’s home finally sells. The Northeast Albuquerque Mansion was originally offered for $2.5Million, which was a reasonable price for this home. Though given the unfavorable circumstances and all the personal touches Vaughan built into the home, there were no buyers willing to pay the $2.5Million asking price.
The custom built mansion is located inside the gates of the prestigious Sauvignon community, which backs to the Tanoan Country Club. The Albuquerque home offers 6,872 square feet, 7 bathrooms, huge gourmet kitchen that would make any chef envious, a butler’s pantry, several dramatic staircases, a formal dining room, 300 bottle wine cellar, huge game room, exercise room, office, guest bedrooms, view deck off the master with private hot tub, multiple covered patios and open decks, and a gorgeous cabana overlooking the pool and the 3rd fairway at Tanoan Country Club’s golf course.
The home experienced several price reductions during its 193 days on the market. It was originally offered for $2.5Million, then $1.95Million, and finally $1.8Million. At auction, only one bidder showed up and purchased the home for cash. On April 13th, the purchaser closed on the home. SOLD – $1.4Million!

Wow! That is such a beautiful home! For $1.4 Million, I think that buyer may have gotten a steal. I guess the pricier the home, the smaller the pool of qualified buyers.
