Netflix is in final negotiations to purchase it's first US studio making Albuquerque home to the streaming giant. Mayor Keller compared the Netflix/Albuquerque partnership to Intel's move to Rio Rancho in 1980 - calling this a true game changer for our community. ABQ notches strongest home sales in seven years, Greater Albuquerque Association of Realtors says – Albuquerque Business First
Sales of single-family homes in the Albuquerque area reached their strongest level in seven years. The Greater Albuquerque Association of Realtors reported Thursday that there were 769 sales last month, a 17.8 percent increase compared to one year ago. The average sales price in September was $212,307, a 4.6 percent increase over September 2012. The median sales price rose 3.2 percent to $177,500. Work by city lowers flood insurance costs – Albuquerque Business First
With all the recent rains in New Mexico, we felt this was very relevant information about our city. Albuquerque residents who have to buy flood insurance could get a 10 percent discount on their policies because of improvements the city has to its flood prevention and preparedness efforts, Mayor Richard Berry said. Mortgage Insurance is Still Tax Deductible through 2013! MI Tax Deductibility passed as part of the American Taxpayer Relief Act of 2012. This allows MI to be tax deductible for 2012 and 2013. The provision extends the ability to deduct the cost of mortgage insurance on a qualified personal residence. The deduction is phased-out by 10% for each $1,000 by which the taxpayer's AGI exceeds $100,000. Thus, the deduction is unavailable for a taxpayer with an AGI in excess of $110,000.
