The historic KiMo Theatre in Downtown Albuquerque recently installed a brand-new, state-of-the-art digital projection system. In addition to the fine collection of opera and ballet telecasts the theater has been sponsoring, KiMo is slowly getting back in the classic movie game. The venerable venue served as a movie theater for a good 50 years, and it’s a real treat to be able to watch a film there once again. This Friday, April 15, for example, you can show up for a double feature of gut-busting Monty Python flicks. The KiMo’s Python-a-Thon gets underway at 8 p.m. with Monty Python and the Holy Grail. Following that, it’s Monty Python’s Life of Brian.
This makes me very excited! Watching Albuquerque’s downtown be revitalized before our eyes is a refreshing site. In addition to the Kimo Theater starting to show classic films again, the downtown area will be getting several new gourmet restaurants in the very near future. This will be good for the Albuquerque downtown and EDO Loft and Condo market!
