Now that we are approaching your closing date, you need to call your utility companies to coordinate to have the utilities transferred into or out of your name as of the day of possession, which is likely the day following your closing. Below are some of the various Albuquerque area utility companies and their phone numbers, along with some others you might find helpful. US Postal Service – (800) 275-8777 – If your new home has a cluster mailbox, you may or may not get a key from the seller at closing. It is recommended that you take your closing documents to the nearest post office shortly after closing to schedule a re-key for your mailbox so that your mail is completely secure.
