ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – After fans watched a Cherry-Silver game tied 0-0 at halftime, the Silver’s offense explodes. QB Tarean Austin spent the first half with the Cherry’s offense, but made his presence felt on the Silver’s offense in the second half. Austin went 8-9 for 157 yards and a touchdown. Silver’s other QB Stump Godfrey threw for 71 yards on 9-14 throwing day. Emmanuel McPhearson has a huge day receiving, grabbing 7 passes for 112 yards. The Silver beat the Cherry 41-0.
The Lobos anual Cherry-Silver game was this weekend. It was a scrimmage – Lobos v. Lobos, and at half time with a score of 0-0 it appeared as though neither side wanted to win. In the end, Silver pulled it out in the second half and beat the Cherry 41-0. Let’s hope the charge Silver put forth in the second half is the same enthusiasm they start their official season with. Albuquerque fans and the University of New Mexico deserve a couple more “W’s” this year. Here’s hoping for a great season!
